birthcontrol

[goodeyeclosed]
After a long period of using PO methods (pills, mirena and the implant) my doctor decided that it would be appropriate for me to resume taking the COCP as he suspects I may have endometriosis. Sadly, mirena did not help to ease the pain and bleeding issues in the way that the pill traditionally did for me. So, oestrogen has been re-introduced as the preffered method to treat my abdominal pain, and heavy, painful periods.

Cut for length, I finally learned! )

I feel like all of my options have run out. My doctor is almost certain that, given my symptoms and presentation, and also my mother's history (onset of similar symptoms at the same age, eventual hysterectomy due to massive endometriosis), that I am suffering from endometriosis. I'm scared of being back on the pill and don't know what to turn to as a reliable method of contraception (which would also help my problems) if I can no longer use it. Help.

birthcontrol

[vivalameghan]
So as I've posted before, I've been experiencing some bad breakthrough bleeding (a constant period) for 2 months on Jolessa after my dr told me to skip my first placebo week in my first tri-cycle pack. I went to the OBGYN today and some tests were ordered, but she told me to stop Jolessa next friday, take no pills for a week, and then start Levora on that Sunday. Has anyone had experiences switching from a tricycle to a once a month? And do you think that by the time I start my Levora, I will be done with bleeding, and won't bleed until my placebo week? I have classes for the first time the week I start Levora and want to make sure my bleeding is almost gone/completely gone for then so I'm not sick. Thanks!

Situation change.... [07 Jan 2010|10:53am]

So my original post is below:
I can no longer afford to stay at school and can't go home so I'm moving to Arizona after May. I need a home for Sid and Johnny anywhere from St. Pete Florida, to Orlando Florida, to Daytona Beach. They come with the whole set up: cage (Superpet three level ferret cage), toys, water bottles, houses, chews, any food, cleaning supplies and extra litter I have at the time of pick-up or delivery. They (set up included) is free to anyone on this community. I might post this a couple times through out the semester if no one has responded lol. I know anyone on here would have the know-how to keep them happy and safe and hopefully post pictures so I can see what they've been up to. They're about 7 months old and are very loveable and sweet. For any responders, yes, I've called all the major airlines I would fly and none take rats. Please help. Thank you. :)

This is a link to my photostream. Most are of the boys. The grey one is Sid the topaz is Johnny.

Edit: here's the link lol

The New Problem: I now need a home by the end of January. Taking them with me is no longer an option :'( The situation financially, emotionally, etc took a change for the worst. Please help!

Do I need Plan B? [07 Jan 2010|12:04am]

birthcontrol

[fuckmekatie]
I always take my pill on time, but last night I didnt take my pill until 6 hours after my normal set time, which is 5pm.
I had sex without a condom tonight, in which my boyfriend ejaculated inside me.
Am I still protected, or do I need Plan B?

I am currently using YAZ.

Thank you so much for your help. I googled and nothing helped.

ratties

[kitzira]
I had someone drop off two rats at my shelter today. All's fine and good, they got them 2 months ago from a friend who was going to release them when she didn't want them anymore. They have a big plastic cage (one of those overpriced Silver/Blue Superpets one) as well. I was quite surprised that it was a very clean cage with clean bedding. The wife just was too scared to handle them for anything beyond cage cleaning.

I went to check their colors and genders, and surprise surprise, one of the females is actually a male. They never realize this and have had the rats since Thanksgiving they guess.

So now I have the female at home on pregnancy watch. If she pops in the next 3-4 weeks, then I'll have a litter of rats to care for till they're at an adoptable age. If not, I guess she's super lucky.

I was wanting to get her spayed, but I'm not sure if I can find a vet in the area that will do it at a reasonable price. I have one contact, but I dunno if her prices are reasonable at her new practice.

My boyfriend named her Theobromine. She's a black berkshire and the male that I left up at the shelter for adoption is a black berkshire as well, but with alot more white on his belly.

"Am I pregnant? You have no clue! Hahah!"

Fleece Bedding! [06 Jan 2010|08:16pm]

ratties

[deppe88]
After reading quite a few convincing posts...I've made the initial switch to fleece bedding! I have the superpet exotic cage so I decided to velcro the fleece to the bottom of the cage. They seem pretty determined to dig it up and rip off the velcro though. At first I thought of getting a piece of linoleum to fit the bottom of the cage then either wrapping that or using some sort of pillowcase method... But I decided to stick with the easier/cheaper method to start out. If this turns out to be a convenient switch I might look into upgrading to a critter nation cage since they seem so much better suited to fabric bedding.
A couple pics of the new setup )

Any advice or words of wisdom for this switch?

Mmmkay. Not sure how I missed this Goosemoose post until now but I just can't stop reading it. If you are a fellow Goosemooser I'm sure you saw it. If not, read it if you want a good giggle and many, many smiles. Also a warning: WAY cute.

I'm currently on my 3rd pack of Yaz after switching from OTC-LO. The first month I skipped my period on purpose skipping my Placebo pills and tong straight to a new pack. The second month I had breakthrough bleeding for 2 Weeks then when I hit my placebo pills, no period. Now I'm on my 3rd pack and I'm on my 3 placebo pill and no sign of a period of breakthrough bleeding. I do have some slight cramps however. Is this normal or should I be worried about pregnancy? My boyfriend have sex usually anywhere from up too 6 times a week and he always pulls out.

HBC Withdrawal? [06 Jan 2010|08:52pm]

birthcontrol

[onchillave]
Hoping to get some clarification...

I stopped taking Ocella after 3 months of use per my OBGYN. My last period (or possibly a withdrawal bleed?) was on December 17th. Normal flow. But it was mirror to my HBC's scheduling (bled all 3 months exactly on either the 17th or 18th).

Around the 27th, started to experience some major symptoms of nausea, headache and bloating/a heavy, drawing sensation in my lower abdomen and sore breasts. Said symptoms passed after a few days but started back up again full force yesterday.

Could my symptoms be withdrawal from the Ocella even though I was only taking it for 3 months? When I was taking it, I had none of the above except for some minor breast full/soreness. I have also gained, in my opinion, a significant amount of weight since stopping Ocella (10lbs.). My appetite has not changed, and I'm physically active. Will I ever lose this weight, or is it possible Ocella has changed my make-up all together? It's really infuriating!

Thank you

The black self boy smack in the middle (covered under all those fancy colours ;)) is a new addition to my family :) He needs a name! I am looking for something manly even though he is just a ball of fluff now. I have Sirius and Sigurd (Siggy for short) written down as faves so far. I like ancient Norse stuff but I am open to anything!
Close up of four of the other males, 8 males in total.
Any Dutchies here that are looking for rittens, this is a rescue litter in Vries and it still has 7 males up for adoption. (Big litter, momma has found a new home, 3 females have found new homes as well) Colours include bluepoint Siamese, blue, mink and black self. Momma is a BES [Black eyed Siamese] and an absolute sweetheart. Dad is unknown, someone bought her at a pet store and guess what she was pregnant...

Also happy birthday to my huge boy Chuck, he turned 2 years and 8 months today :) Here's to many more months to come old boy. I made him a pie with shrimp, red bell pepper, yellow bell pepper, tomatos and fresh basil. Nomnomnom! (But he preferred stealing my biscuit.)

Green Tea & Calcium Citrate [04 Jan 2010|11:29pm]

birthcontrol

[crackdown12]
Hi I have a few questions. I was wondering if there's such a thing as drinking too much green tea so that it flushes out the affects of HBC (I'm on Ortho-Tri-Cyclen Lo). I've googled it and haven't found anything but you can never be too sure.
Also I'm preparing to start using a Calcium supplement. I've purchased Citracal (Calcium Citrate with Vitamin D). Each pill is about 500IU of Vitamin D and 630 mg of (elemental) Calcium.
Is there any known interactions (or even rumored?) between these things? Thanks for your help!
